CESC to develop Rs 32 bn power plant

CESC will soon revive its 600 MW power project in Balaghar in West Bengal by infusing Rs 32 billion.
During the mid 1990s the Balaghar project was shelved due to unavoidable circumstances. As per CESC officials, due to the power shortages in the West Bengal they have planned to revive it. In the next two to three days, CESC will apply for environmental clearance for the Balaghar project.
About 800 acre of land is already available for this project while coal linkages need to be worked out on.
