The project which was completed in March 2010 after commisioning began in February 2010, is one of the largest solar thermal hot water installations in Turkey to date. Important to the marketing strategy of Blue Waters Hotel, the installation provides guests with up to 100,000 litres of hot water per day. This project used 300 Wunder CLS Premium collectors; in this series 40mm thick 50 kg/m3 rockwool for insulation; aluminum finishing, EPDM rubber and silicone for leak-proofing were used. While the glazing is done by a 4mm thick low iron tempered glass, 0,12mm thick titanium coated selective surface is offered for the absorber surface. As for the other materials, two double pumps were installed, two expansion tanks and boilers where hot water can be stored up to 100 C degrees in the afternoon hours. Solimpeks in conjunction with Seiso Engineering installed the system on a concrete roof without any damage of the roofing insulation. Solimpeks states that the entire system has a payback time of 29 months.
