Hayward Tyler speed up offshore services

Hayward Tyler Group Ltd – a leading manufacturer, service provider for pumps and motors – has further strengthened its offshore service operations to support the increasing demand for fast turnaround on repairs and maintenance of critical offshore equipment.

Hayward Tyler designed and built the first submersible motor in 1908 and is expert in wet wound motor and pump technology. In addition to the regional office based in Aberdeen, UK facilities include a fully functional service workshop, providing offshore customers with efficient and cost effective services. Fully qualified mechanical engineers can carry out the installation and minor repair of our units and provide complete wet-wound motor services for equipment on offshore platforms; enabling customers to monitor quality and reduce turnaround times.

Our onshore submersible facility, the only one of its type in the UK, can test units up to 1200 m3/hr, with a maximum voltage rating of 11Kv. Firewater pumps (line shaft and submersible), booster pumps, jockey pumps and subsea pumps and motor sets are few examples of equipment that we are able to test.

Hayward Tyler specialises in the design and manufacture of bespoke pumps and motors for the power generation and offshore oil and gas markets. "Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd secured the highestever orders from private power utilities in fiscal 2009-10. Out of the total contracts of 16,489 mw for power plant equipment received by BHEL during the year, the orders from independent power producers alone accounted for 14,689 mw. This constituted nearly 90 per cent of the total orders booked by the company's power division. In financial terms, the orders amount to Rs 33,787 crore—more than threefold increase over the previous year.

During the year BHEL received orders from private sector companies such as Abhijit Infra Pvt. Ltd, ACC Ltd, Adhunik Power and Natural Resources Ltd, Avantha Power Infrastructure Ltd, Hindalco Industries Ltd, Indiabulls Group, Jindal Power Ltd, Jaypee Group, Sterlite Industries India Ltd, Tata Group and Videocon Industries Ltd, among others.
