Hayward Tyler Services (HTS), part of the Hayward Tyler Group, have successfully completed a contract to overhaul three Hayward Tyler Wet Wound Boiler Circulation Pumps (BCP’s) for N.V. Elektriciteits-Produktiemaatschappij Zuid (EPZ) at their solid fuel fired power plant in The Netherlands. The contract required the overhaul to be completed on a turnkey basis in just 5 weeks.
The BCP’s were originally supplied in 1984 and have offered virtually 100% availability in over 20 years of operation. This high availability has been achieved due to a proactive preventive maintenance approach by the customer and Hayward Tyler service team.
The project involved the removal, overhaul and re-installation of three BCP’s (Model 2 x 10 x 14 x 17, 280kW, 660V, 218 Bar) in joint collaboration with EPZ’s on site maintenance team.
Not only was the project delivered ahead of schedule and under a very tight turn-around time of 5 weeks, but HTS also increased the meantime between maintenance to 4 years, therefore reducing the overall operating costs of the plant.
The project was completed under strict nuclear operating conditions, which brought with it an intense level of administration and quality requirements, familiar territory for the HTS team.
Hayward Tyler Services provide a variety of outage, repair, overhaul and test services for pumps, compressors, power turbines, gearboxes, motors and other high-speed rotating equipment from a wide variety of manufacturers and industries.
