BHEL is likely to invest around Rs 75 crore in its Bangalore based divisions to augment its manufacturing capacity from 15,000 to 20,000 MW by 2011-12.
The company's divisions in Bangalore include the Electronics Division (EDN), Industrial Systems Group (ISG) and Ceramic Business Unit (CBU).
According to sources, the company's focus on creation of additional infrastructure, manufacturing and testing facilities as well as human resource were progressing as per plans. Around 90 per cent of the expansion is likely to be in the EDN.
The EDN has secured a turn-key order from KPCL for setting up a 3 MWp (peak) grid interactive solar power plant at Yapaladdini village in Raichur district in Karnataka.
