Philippine power producer Aboitiz Power plans to spend P72bn within four to five years on building new power plants.
Aboitiz Power president and CEO Erramon Aboitiz told local media that projects lined up between 2011 and 2015 include a 300MW coal plant in Subic and two coal plants in Mindanao.
The Subic plant is expected to be a total Greenfield project along with one of the two Mindanao plants.
Aboitiz said it is also considering some hydro power plants but the major portion of the portfolio is likely to consist of coal.
