The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Geothermal Technologies Program (GTP) has released a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) that seeks innovative demonstration of energy production from non-conventional geothermal resources in the following topic areas:
- Low-Temperature Geothermal Fluids at temperatures up to 300°F
- Geothermal Fluids Co-produced from productive, unproductive, or marginal oil and/or gas wells; other hydrocarbon production; or mineral recovery/mining operations
- Geopressured Resources that show potential for economic recovery of heat, kinetic energy, and gas.
GTP’s continued efforts with industry, academia, and DOE s national laboratories to develop innovative geothermal energy technologies will establish geothermal energy as an economically competitive contributor to the U.S. energy supply.
