More incenetives demanded by Bengal Aerotropolis

To attract solar equipment and technology firms, Bengal Aerotropolis Projects Limited (BAPL) is seeking a combination of exemptions, incentives and subsidies. The company is developing an airport city nearDurgapur.
The company plans to attract domestic and international investments in the range of Rs 2,000-3,000 crore. They will also approach the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) for a 'solar valley' status for added advantages.
The company has earmarked about 100 acre for the solar valley, which will be ready by the end of 2011.Singapore based Changi Airports has a 26 per cent stake in the project, which is proposed to be spread over about 2,300 acres in the Bardhaman district of the state.
