Siemens Replaces Power Equipment at US Plant

Siemens Energy has received an order to supply a power island to repower the El Centro Generating Station Unit 3 in California, US.

Siemens will also provide NOx and CO2 emissions controls systems with the equipment.

Siemens Energy Industrial Power Business Unit CEO Markus Tacke said that the repowering of the unit will replace equipment installed more than 50 years ago and increase output by 100MW, which will add up to a total of 333MW.

ARB will be the EPC contractor for the facility, while owner Imperial Irrigation District (IID) will operate the power plant.
