Power-hungry India seeks coal reserves:
"Australia could benefit as India looks for the coal and oil it increasingly needs to feed its rapidly expanding economy. POWER stations are a symbol of how rapidly India's economy is expanding.
When Credit Suisse analyst Sanjay Mookim counted coming coal-fired power projects throughout the country last month, his tally came to 86. At least 29 were already under construction and another 28 were at the development stage, awaiting government approvals. Another 50 hydro-electric power projects are planned over the next decade and 16 new nuclear power plants are in the pipeline, although most of them won't operate until after 2020."......................
