Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) and NTPC Ltd have signed a deal for setting up a joint venture to set up nuclear power projects in the country.
As per the terms of the JV, NPCIL will have 51 per cent equity and the balance 49 per cent will be held by NTPC. The joint venture will be operational within a few months and the venture is likely to set up two 700 MW reactors at a site identified by the Department of Atomic Energy.
