Sterlite Energy’s 2400 MW power plant which is being developed in Jharsuguda, Orissa, will be delayed by three months.
As per earlier plans, the first unit of the 4 x 600 MW plant were supposed to be operational by now, but now with the delay it will be operational only by June 2011. The remainder three units are expected to be operational by the end of 2011.
As per sources, the delay was because of change in visa rules regarding the Chinese workers but now the European consultant to carry on with the work.
