The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) will provide loans to the government agencies for the development of hydropower projects in Uttarakhand.
Nabard has sanctioned a loan of Rs 61.61 crore to Uttarakhand Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (UJVNL) for the development of four mini-hydropower projects situated in Uttarkashi, Haridwar, Pithoragarh and Chamoli districts.
The bank further plans to sanction more such loans for the power sector in Uttarakhand. This is being done under the Centre's decision for the rural infrastructure development fund (RIDF).
