Bina Refinery To Resume Operations In 2011
Bharat Petroleum Corporation’s Bina refinery, located in Madhya Pradesh, will commence operations early next year as a power plant, critical for the plant, will be set up in January after a delay of 21 months. The Rs 11,400 crore refinery is losing Rs 2.5 crore per day as it has not been able to function after a test run that was done by drawing power from the grid and using a hired boiler in July.
Oman Oil Co holds a stake of 26 per cent in it. A 100 MW power plant for the refinery that can process 6 million tonne a year, was being set up. The power plant was initially expected to be ready by April 2009. Later, the date was extended to July 2010. Boiler for unit-1 is now readt an...
